The Blurb:
Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds... and desires.
The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart..
The review:
Lately I have been craving Dark Erotica. So when this one got rave reviews, I decided to give it a try. I'll admit that I was surprised when I heard it was self published. When I saw the cover, I thought it was issued by one of the big publishers. The cover fits the story perfectly.
From their first meeting, the sexual tension between Eva and Gideon
crackled. But what I loved was that Eva tried to resist, recognizing
that Gideon was out of her league. Since it would have been so easy
for her to succumb directly. But what appealed most to me was that they both struggled. Neither Gideon or Eva have had an easy life, they are both scarred. My heart ached for them as they navigated the rocky shoals of their scars. Despite this being a romance, there were times when I wondered if they would end up together.
It was intresting how much it felt like
their lives were mirrored. But that aspect also helped them understand each
other, giving an extra level support. It was... interesting to
watch their interactions with their families. Sometimes I wondered
if... Nevermind. That would be a spoiler.
The only thing that I didn't like with
this book was the ending. Yes, I know that this is the first book in
a series, but the ending felt more like someone hit the pause button.
Nothing felt like it was wrapped up.

I have read the fifty shades trilogy and I have read the first two parts of the crossfire series. Sylvia day is a great author. The book was out of this world. It had a certain similarity to fifty shades as the trilogy inspired it but, I liked this better. It was a mix of emotions and a must read.
